AUGUST 2025 EDITION
Create Your Unique “Back-to-School” Ritual
Transform this year's transition from last-minute scramble to a memorable celebration
The upcoming beginning of the school year is an amazing opportunity to celebrate your child.
But it's all too easy to miss that opportunity.
Picture this: Instead of frantically ordering school supplies at midnight and shooting a couple of random photos, you create a moment your child will remember for the rest of their life.
A ritual that honors who they were last year, celebrates who they're becoming, and blesses them as they step into their next chapter.
The kind of memory that becomes part of their story forever.

Here's what usually happens (and why it breaks our hearts)
Every August, we know this transition deserves something special. We feel it in our bones...this isn't just another day. Our child is growing, changing, venturing into a bigger world.
But life gets in the way. The to-do lists pile up. We're drowning in back-to-school logistics. We’re not sure about where to start to make this moment special. In the end, we just forget.
Then we watch our child walk into school, and something in us aches...This moment mattered. And I missed it.
I know this ache because I lived it.
I auto-piloted through my first few back-to-school seasons as a parent, until one day I decided: These fleeting moments are too beautiful and too precious to let slip by half-noticed.
That's when I turned to the transformative power of family rituals.
The Power of Rituals
Rituals have been used since the dawn of time to celebrate milestones and work through transitions.
For families, rituals bring adults and children together, conveying complex meanings and bridging generational gaps in a way that is intuitive, playful and profound.
Rituals find their place in the life of families in many places, from solving problems and easing routines to deepening the bonds of affection and bringing the sacred into the ordinary.
What makes this workshop different
The internet is full of lists like "27 ideas for your back-to-school". And we all have seen plenty of social-media optimized choreographies - a sort of "Pinterest-ification" of family life.
That whole approach is kind of backwards, because it mistakes the form for the essence, and the means for the purpose.
I don't know about you, but when I look at those lists, I usually feel overwhelmed (gosh, where will I ever find the time to bake pancakes every day for the first week of school?!), contrived (I don't actually like making pancakes) and disappointed (what I thought was a rite of passage ends up being just eating a lot of sugar).
Something feels off.
We ain't going for that.
This workshop is about discovering your own rituals - exciting, powerful and authentic. This work is designed to speak to your values, to honor your child's specific journey, and to energize your family as you’re going through this transition.
In 90 minutes together, you'll uncover:
The art of rituals
✔ The simple "grammar" of rituals (once you know this, you can create meaningful moments anywhere)
✔ A wide range of examples to get inspiration from (vs endless variations on the pancakes idea)
✔ Why rituals work so powerfully for children's developing brains
Your family's unique back-to-school story
✔ A step-by-step process to design a ritual that fits your family's style and values
✔ How to weave in your child's specific conquests and challenges from the past year
✔ Ways to include meaningful references, from family history to your child's favorite stories
Community magic
✔ Real-time inspiration from other creative, conscious parents
✔ The cross-pollination that happens when families share their discoveries
✔ A supportive community to join after the workshop

Imagine if...
Imagine if you could look back on your childhood and remember distinctly how you felt at each back-to-school transition…
Imagine how different those transitions would have felt if your parents had been intentional about helping you articulate the bigness of what you were experiencing—and giving those feelings a beautiful, tangible form…
Now imagine offering that gift to your own child.
Picture them years from now, telling their own children:
"Every August, my mom/dad would create this special moment just for me. They helped me see how much I'd grown and made me feel so ready for whatever came next. It's one of my most treasured memories".
That's what we're creating together.

Who is this perfect for
Parents with children ages 1-18 (yes, even teenagers crave meaningful acknowledgment of their transitions, it might just look a bit different)
Families ready to move beyond survival mode into intentional celebration
Anyone who wants to model presence and meaning-making for their children
Parents who feel the sacredness in ordinary moments and are excited to honor it
Children are welcome to participate, dip in and out, or sit it out entirely, according to their preference and age. The workshop is primarily geared toward the parents.
Regardless of whether the child participates in the workshop, we’ll make sure you have ample ways to gather their input and preferences about the rituals, which of course is essential.
For most kids, especially under the age of 10, it might be more meaningful to provide their input later, at home, in a more familiar scenario. The workshop will help you get to that conversation brimming with ideas and ready to unleash your child's imagination.
Will my child be involved?
