How we turn the everyday into a story to treasure

The Story of Us uses a system that delivers depth while fitting into a busy schedule:

  • Weekly Story Capsules (~10 min): Every week a pre-recorded lesson that teaches you one aspect of family story authorship. Clear, easy-to-implement, step-by-step instructions. Watch it in your own time. Lifetime access.

  • Weekly Group Coaching Circles (60 min): Process your discoveries, break through challenges, shift your mindset, uncover deeper layers of meaning, break the isolation.

  • Daily Authoring Practices (5-15 min): Simple rituals and reflections to consciously shape your everyday, alone and with your family.

  • Private Community: Share wins, get support through plot twists, and find your people among parents who want to write beautiful stories together.

  • Flexible engagement: Register for one season at a time, or sign up for the whole year!

Proof that I've always been concerned with fitting depth (and height!) into small and busy spaces (in this case, my parents' built-in dough board) lol

Who The Story Of Us is for

The Story of Us is designed for parents ready to create something meaningful from the beautiful whirlwind of family life. It's perfect for:

  • Parents who want more than survival mode: You love your kids but you want to feel like you're truly living these years, not just enduring them.

  • Parents lacking consistency: You know how you would like to show up, but emotions and old ineffective ways keep getting in the way. You want to "walk your talk", acting in accordance with what you truly believe.

  • Parents questioning their approach: You find yourself second-guessing decisions and wondering "What's my parenting philosophy supposed to be?" You want confidence that comes from knowing your values.

  • Families wanting to build their roots: You don't want to just parent from a manual. You want traditions, rhythms, and stories that reflect who you are.

  • Families feeling scattered despite good intentions: You want to weave the special moments and deep conversations into something coherent and meaningful.

  • Parents feeling the time pressure: You're acutely aware that childhood is fleeting and you don't want to look back with regret about what you missed or didn't savor.

  • Families ready for deeper connection: You want more than parallel lives under the same roof. You're craving intimacy, shared meaning, and genuine joy together.

Who The Story Of Us is NOT for

I want to be completely transparent: The Story of Us isn't for everyone. This journey is not for you if:

  • You want quick fixes or parenting hacks: This isn't about techniques to make your kids behave better. It's about the deeper work of conscious family creation.

  • You're looking for child development or behavioral strategies: We focus on family story and meaning-making, not sleep training, screen time or discipline techniques. That being said, the mindset you bring and the stories you're telling yourself about such topics have huge importance, and that's what we look at.

  • You're not ready for self-reflection: The program involves examining your own story, values, and patterns. If you're not open to inner work, this won't resonate.

  • You prefer rigid rules over discovery: We don't give you a parenting manual to follow. We help you discover your own family's unique path.

  • You're not willing to invest time in practices: Real transformation requires consistent, small actions. If you're not ready to engage with weekly content and daily practices, this isn't the right fit.

The Story of Us requires a willingness to see family life as a creative collaboration and parenting as an opportunity for both your growth and your children's. If that excites rather than intimidates you, welcome home.

Frequently Asked Questions

My child/my family is in crisis. Is this the right fit?

This program alone is not the right fit for families in acute crisis. If your child is experiencing multiple daily meltdowns, showing signs of self-harm, or you're dealing with severe behavioral challenges, you need focused, tactical parenting support first (I can provide trusted recommendations). However, here's what's also true: Working on your mindset and examining the story you're creating for your family will be an essential piece of your family's healing journey. The way you see yourself, your child, and your family's challenges directly impacts how you navigate them. The Story of Us can be a powerful complement to more targeted intervention work, either pursued in parallel (if you have the bandwidth) or after you've stabilized the immediate crisis. Many parents find that once they've addressed the urgent behavioral needs, they still need support in processing their own emotional responses to the challenges, rebuilding confidence in their parenting and creating a family narrative that includes struggle without being defined by it. If you're unsure whether this is the right timing, I encourage you to schedule a Family Story Discovery call. We can discuss your specific situation and determine whether The Story of Us would be helpful now or if you'd benefit from focusing on crisis support first.

What if at some point I just need some parenting advice?

The Story of Us is not a parenting advice program. My expertise is in narrative coaching and life transitions, not child development or behavioral strategies. That said, I am a psychologist, father, and have coached hundreds of parents. So if specific parenting questions come up during our journey together, I'm happy to share my thoughts in the spirit of "Here's what I've observed – see if that helps." But it will be offered as perspective, not expert directive. If you need ongoing parenting advice and strategies, I can recommend you books and/or specialists to work with alongside this program. The Story of Us complements that tactical work beautifully by helping you parent from your authentic self rather than just following techniques. Bottom line: Come for the inner story work and family meaning-making. The occasional parenting insight is a bonus, not the main course.

I'm not a writer – can I really 'author' my family's story?

You're already writing your family's story every day through your choices, responses, and the meaning you create from experiences. We're not trying to become novelists here. We're becoming aware of the narrative we're already creating and making them more intentional.

What if my family isn't naturally 'story-oriented'?
Every family has stories, you just might not recognize them yet. Some families are adventure stories, others are quiet connection stories, while others yet are about learning, faith, growth, belonging... This is the beauty of this work: the process is universal, it's something we have been doing since the dawn of time. Whoever you are, this program can help you discover your family's natural narrative style and build from there.
What if I don't have time for more reflection and journaling?
This program is not about writing long journal entries. It's about seeing your daily life through a story lens, which actually makes parenting easier, not harder. When you see a tantrum as character development instead of a crisis, you respond differently. When you see bedtime struggles as a plot point instead of a failure, you stay calmer. For many people, the reflective work in this program ends up replacing the mindless scrolling on their phone, turning time-wasting habits into a source of joy and purpose.
Will this make family life feel forced or artificial?
The opposite. When you're authoring your story consciously, everything feels more authentic because you're living from your true values instead of just reacting to circumstances. Your kids will feel the difference between manufactured family fun and genuine story creation.

What if we're already a close family – will this still help?
If you're already close, this will help you capture and deepen that closeness. Many of our most satisfied families started with good relationships and wanted to make them extraordinary. Story consciousness helps close-knit families own, protect and grow their light.
